A band based in Los Angeles, CA

Well…this is embarassing to admit…but we’ve missed you guys. Finals were less like getting punched in the face by a fully-grown bear and more like suck than we remembered, and the rush of forgetting that the school year existed by overdosing on summer took a bit of time…as did some other things which you will be very aware of in very near future. Ok, I’m out of breath.

Get this. Video Blog of our San Fran tour? Remember 6 months ago when that actually happened? Yeah. That’s out now. It’s like being fashionably late to a party that started 2 days before. So chill. (Seriously I’m so sorry, don’t hate me). Who wrote this post? YOU CAN BLAME NO ONE! Muahaha. By the way, it was TOTALLY Blake. TOTALLY.

News of the Fire - Cautions is a Word (Acoustic)

An acoustic version of “Caution is a Word” for your summer. We’re going to be writing/playing a lot of new stuff in these next few months, so let this keep you happy and filled like a marathon of “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.”

To the woman that gave birth to us and stuck with us through our weirdest times…we say thank you. HERE’S TO MOMS!

Summer begins. It begins with joy. It also begins with trash cans. BEZT SUMMER EVERRRR

We’re hitting you, on this lovely Wednesday afternoon, with a track from our encounter with Live Nation Labs. If it stings, we’d say sue us, but our band fund is a meager, meager thing. Rather, exchange words/feelings with us on Facebook or Twitter or here and we’ll discuss alternative options.

Ok, honestly, talk with us. We are, as are manager tells us, “hyper-active kids.”

Finals. We. Are. So. Close. To. Summer.
Summer=Writing.
Writing=New Music. New Videos. New Tracks.
Summer≠Papers on Jewish acculturation through film.
Summer≠Having to worry about that chunk of hair on your head that’s sticking up as you go to class because you slept too late to hop in the shower.
We’ll be playing in LA at the end of May. Get your ears ready for madness, auditory freedom, and catastrophe.

With More Coffee Than Ever Before,
Dan

P.S. That picture was taken by our good friend LA Girlfriend. I’m struggling to find this film for my paper that deals with a photographer who takes pictures of Jewish mail-order brides and falls in love. IF YOU KNOW IT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW…please. Help.

Our friend Joe doing ADR for Dan’s short film. The only way to stay sane during finals.

You thought News of the Fire went hard, but did you KNOW?
I (Dan) am performing a short live set tonight/this morning on KXLU at 2am. Tune in here: http://www.kxlu.com/. He’ll also be spinning some of his new favorite songs. Or call in and we can edit the theology paper you’re trying to finish tonight.

Working on a new NOTF video blog of our trip up to SF. This is what I clicked on first. Prepare yourselves.

"Ain’t No Sunshine" Cover

These guys…I swear, one day they will need a kidney and we will give it to them. The amount that they have done for us is REDONKULUZ.

Download it, stream it, and go to their site and leave some love words.

Let’s spread this.

We’re playing tomorrow night at the Slidebar in Fullerton with Vanaprasta and Armada! Show begins at 9pm, but from 8:30-10:30 it’s 50% off all food and drinks for college students…SOUNDS AWESOME!
Nico and Dan will be heading in from LA at 7pm because they’ve got class…so not Rock ‘n’ Roll. GETTIN’ THAT EDUMACATION!

Some photos from the show last night in San Diego at the Moniker Warehouse. We had an absolute blast, plus Lady Day and Cuckoo Chaos killed it. Late-night chorizo burritos for under 4 bucks stole the show though…
